Lake Dwellers.
Sad, but true. We've lived here for six years. Today was the first time we've ever headed for Jordan Lake! We've talked about going in the past. We've wanted to go in the past. But we never have. On the drive over, Straight Arrow said, "What if we find out that we love it once we get there...and then we'll only be here 9 more months to enjoy it?!" Well, we loved it! The kids loved it! It was great! Hey, at least we have Lake Hickory once we move. Yeah baby!
One-liner of the day came from Roundabout: "Hey Mom, is there an undertow in this lake?"
Straight Arrow quickly turned to me and asked, "How does she know about the undertow?!"
Our top ten list of why we liked our morning on the waterfront:
10. We only live 20 minutes away.
9. There was a
8. There are restrooms and a shower closeby.
7. The water was shallow enough for the kids to go in and out; perfect for
6. There was enough shade for Rest Area to
5. A $5 vacation.
4. The weather was fabulous and the view was

3. The sand had been combed and there was no trash around.

1. We didn't have to drive home to the tune of 4 hours in a salty, sticky, sandy swimsuit.
Until six more years from now....

what do you mean by you will see us in six years?
Meaning...it took us six years to get to the lake. It will probably take six more years to go back. I don't know...
I can't tell you how many times we've found activities and places we love right before we move away. Can you say Marbles Museum? When we move I always think, this time I will hunt out all the good spots right away and not procratinate going, but then it happens again!
I know what you mean. It took me 20 years to convince Bryan to go to Mrytle Beach and of course, he loved it! We will go back when he returns from Iraq. He was sad it took in so long to go.
Fun Fun
I always wanted to try Jordan lake out too. Glad you did and you liked it!
