We celebrated a 2-year-old birthday while we were at Disney, but we waited to party until we got home. Since Grammy and Grampy, Uncle Gary and Aunt Sarah, and Aunt Wendy and Uncle Anthony and the crew were in town, this weekend was the perfect time to celebrate!
We happen to live by every little boys dream...a train track. And a busy one at that. Granted, we don't close enough for the train to shake our house when it comes by, but close enough that it's whistle can wake one from a nap. It comes through at least three times a day and often we stop to watch it cross the street. It never has more than three engines; we know because we count every time.
Curvy Road LOVES the train. He hears it without fail every single time it passes by and often runs out to the front porch to hear it even louder. So, it was only appropriate for him to have a train cake for his birthday this year. The other two kids both undeniably wanted an Elmo cake for their 2nd birthdays...but not this boy. He doesn't even know who Elmo is...it was trains for him!
A couple of months ago, I found this cupcake cake for a train, rocket, or dump truck made by Wilton. How awesome! You just arrange the silicone cupcake holders in the order you want for whichever design you want...and then frost! The best part comes at party time when each person can just take pull a part off.
He loved blowing out the candles. We relit them four times for extra candleblowing love! And he was a pro at opening presents this time. He has one more to open from Grandma that we're saving, but he has really enjoyed everything that he got!
