She came home beaming that she had a speaking part until I asked her to say it for me. "Well that's the problem can't you see, the cheese can't like the rat. You must know he's your enemy like his is the cat" in the most monotone, boring, and unexcited voice ever.
The days leading up to the music program consisted of her saying her part with feeling a thousand times over until it was somewhat better. She argued that no one else uses feeling and so why should she? It was embarrassing to be different, but why have a speaking part if you aren't going to really be the part? Scott offered her a trip to Feeney's Fro-Yo if she actually said it with feeling during the performance.
For the most part minus her nerves, she did.
